Power Down PowerPoint to Power Up Persuasion
with Dave Gunby

Mark Twain said, “To a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Presenters seem to have found a hammer – PowerPoint!

Presenters are now hammering everything and everyone with it. PowerPoint is a powerful and useful tool … when used properly. Unfortunately it has become so pervasive that it is often misused. In the first portion of this session, we will cover simple, common sense (but not common practice) guidelines to create visual aids that are visual and aids! This will include rules of thumb for use of text, images, charts, and titles.

In the second portion of this presentation, we will examine your most reliable and effective visual aid – You! You will learn some tools and tips to become more persuasive as a presenter by emphasizing your delivery of your message. You'll understand how stance, eye contact, movement, and voice can make or break your presentation and your credibility.

Dave GunbyDave has coached and trained thousands to present more powerfully and persuasively, to access and use their creativity, learn  information and new skills faster, and apply Idea Mapping (an organizingand memory tool). He is the ownerof MINDimensions, a leadership training and facilitation companydedicated to assisting others to use their communication and creative abilitiesto their fullest. In Dave's 20 years as a trainer, consultant, and coach, Dave has worked with people in industries ranging from entertainment to defense; from not-for-profit to Fortune 100 companies, from professional associations to MBA programs.
